The moment of truth....

After a pretty poor from the Steelers offense as a whole and O-Line specifically the Steelers dropped a much needed game against the dreaded the Raven and fall to a record of 7-3.

We are now tied with the Bungals for the lead in the AFC North. The problem is we face the 10-0 Indianapolis Colts on Monday night in the RCA. To say Steelers fan are concerned is a complete understatement.

Can the return of Big Ben inspire this to rebirth of the Steelers dynasty. I honestly feel if Cowher can figure out a way to win this game then the Steelers will be playing for a ring in January.

The problem is however the Colts are the most complete team in the league and their quarterback Peyton Manning may be the best thing since Joe Montana. The Steelers are currently 9 point underdogs and will need to play a perfect game to win.

Here are the keys to victory as I see them:
1.) Run the ball - Minimizing the amount of time that Peyton Manning is job #1. It will be alot easier keeping the game in control if we are not down 21 points.
2.) Get physical - Punch these chumps in the mouth. Make every tackle count. Blast the receivers on the slant route.
3.) Force the Colts to run the ball - The Steelers front 4 play the run better than any other unit in the league.
4.) Force turnovers and No turnovers - See #2, if we are physical we can force turnovers that will change the game
5.) Play to win(not Play not to lose). Scared money will not make money. The Steelers have to blitz early and often. Manning will pick a cover two zone apart.

We are the underdogs so all we gotta do is play...

Let go Steelers!!

Please no more Tommy!!

Tommy Maddox throwing another lame duck

With the Steelers currently 7-2 and leading the division they now have the dirtiest of bird the dreaded 2-7 Balitmore Ravens.

The fact that both Roethlisberger and Batch are both out with injuries means that the dreaded Tommy Maddox will be getting the start. That's right the same scrub who almost single-handed gave away the game to the Jags.

In the days after Tommy's meltdown the fans rode him like a rented mule for not accepting blame for his poor play and for crying like a little bitch after some Steelers hooligans threw some crap on his lawn.

Tommy's confidence appears to be shot. Another Steelers fan that I speak with regularly who also goes to the Steelers home games stated the whole stadium was chanting "Hand it off Tommy... Hand it off".

Not a good sign.

With the Colts on the schedule next week we need for Tommy to have a decent game so that we can get a win going into next week. I think it will be important to establish the running game and allow Maddox to throw from play action to get him going.

Well Tommy here's your chance for redemption.

Just go in against the Ravens and hand off the damn ball. That's all you have to do Tommy!!!

Playing not to lose..

It's a few days after the Monday night game against those dirty birds the Balitmore Ravens and although the Steelers eeked out a 20-19 victory I'm still pissed.

It has to be obivous to anyone who has watch Bill Cowher for any period of time that he cannot coach in pressure situations. He is indecisve and hesitant.

During the game Cowher calls a timeout on 4th down with 6 seconds on the clock and the Ravens have the ball. The problem is that the Ravens did not have any timeouts and could not have stopped the clock. Luckly the missed the field goal that followed but it could have easily cost the Steelers the game.

The Steelers are 5-2 going to Lambeau to play Bret Farve and his Green Bay Packers and I'm a little nervious. Big Ben went under the knife this week for his knee injury and this means Charlie Batch will be starting. It also appears that Bettis will be on the shelf again.

Some good news is that Staley is slated to return...hopefully he can play well and help spell "Fast" Willie Parker who got absolutely hammered against the Ravens.

The Steelers will have to man-up to pull out a win against a desparate Packer ball club.

Go Steelers...
